Profile

Peg Neuhauser is one of the world’s leaders in corporate culture. She shows her clients how to be more innovative and adaptive. Global trends and technological advances bring sweeping change but can rock the foundation of organizational cultures. Peg believes there is no one “right” culture for all organizations. The “right” culture is one that supports company goals. If your company’s goals have changed, you probably need to change your culture. By encouraging collaboration and direct discourse, Peg shows how to resolve conflicts among an organization’s “tribes.” Her stories, case examples and humour illustrate each idea in a way that is both entertaining and easy to remember. Peg works with organizations in transition, assisting executives in blending differing company cultures, thereby reducing burnout and unwanted turnover in challenging times.

She is author of four best-selling books: I Should Be Burnt Out by Now … So How Come I’m Not?, Tribal Warfare in Organizations; Corporate Legends & Lore: The Power of Stories as a Management Tool; and Culture.com: Building Corporate Culture in the Connected Workplace. Prior to establishing her consulting company in 1984, Peg worked for Hospital Corporation of America.

    • With all the mergers, partnerships, and restructuring going on in organizations these days, clashes between the cultures are inevitable. People do not give up their old ways or blend two groups with different customs and histories without a struggle. Ordering people to change rarely works. The conflicts do not go away; they just go underground. To change or blend cultures requires negotiation to develop new ground rules and common agreements about how the groups will work together in the future. This presentation guides participants through their own current cultures and to help them identify specific changes and common agreements that are needed.
