When they cut off his leg, it seems they increased the size of his heart. Paul Rosen was a promising 15-year-old Midget AAA hockey player skating hard in a 1975 tournament when he fell on the ice and broke his leg in 14 places. At the same time, his dream of playing professional hockey shattered. In 1999, doctors discovered a massive infection in his knees and had to amputate his leg. He was 39 years old. Within a year, Paul made the Canadian National Sledge Hockey Team. He's now ranked as the number one Sledge Hockey goaltender in the world. A rising star of motivational keynoting, Paul Rosen can motivate, educate, inspire and entertain your team. He delivers his high-impact message on overcoming adversity, world-class athletic competition and the power of living a dreamer's life to audiences across North America. In March 2006 the Canadian Sledge Hockey Team won the gold medal final in Turin, beating Norway 3 - 0, it was Canada's first ever gold medal in sledge hockey at the Paralympics.
“Paul Rosen has a lightning-fast glove, cat-quick reflexes and a calm presence in the crease. He has everything an NHL goaltender has … except … his right leg. Paul’s message is ideal for student groups and sports teams. His powerful presentation focuses on seeing through differences, teaching acceptance, and having respect for yourself and others. Audiences learn powerful new insights on eliminating judgement and developing strong and rewarding relationships”.
