Bilingual Inspirational "Voyageur Bob" - 9 Secrets To Sunquest Success and other life and business lessons from a Master
A thoroughly engaging and natural speaker, Bob gets people involved in his presentation. He is naturally entertaining and manages to grab the attention of everyone in the room. Such is his charisma on the platform.

Bob Abrames is an exceptionally successful entrepreneur, having worked at SunQuest Vacations, one of Canada’s premier, and most profitable tour companies, with offices in Canada and the U.S., for approximately 18 years. After the sale of Sunquest in 1993 Bob joined “The Last Minute Club”, the largest independent retail travel company in Canada. He has managed companies with hundreds of employees and been personally responsible for millions of dollars in sales. He has explored, managed, negotiated, bought and sold in 76 countries on six continents.
Bob was host of Travel-Time on national television and starred as a voyageur in Destination Nor’Quest, an eight-week television docu-drama about the fur traders – the first European adventurers, tourists and commercial business people who traversed North America. Both programs enjoyed mass viewership and ratings in the millions. A published writer, Abrames has penned more than 300 articles for various sales, marketing and adventure publications in Canada and the U.S., as well as ten books focused on sales, service and personal motivation.
Bob Abrames is a 10th generation Canadian and a direct descendant of three documented Voyageurs. This appeals to Bob and so in the next iteration of his life he began exploring living as an explorer. Being an entrepreneur is natural to him. It's in his blood!
The Voyageur (Mountain Man) was the first commercial entrepreneur in North America. They opened up trade routes and laid the foundation for every business on the continent today.
Bob uses his Voyageur expeditions to create fascinating analogies about teams, preparation, focus, adversity and determination that is applicable to any business and every individual!
Bob spends his summers traveling the rivers and lakes of North America living as a Voyageur. His expeditions are 100% true to the 1800s which is what makes him and his stories so unique. His canoe is made of birch bark. His food - peas and salt pork! NO toothbrush, toilet paper, sunscreen, bug spray, tent or sleeping bag! He paddles 12 hours a day at 40 strokes a minute and uses flint and steel to start his fires. He lives the part so he can speak the part!
His longest journey to date has been from Montreal to Winnipeg, a distance of 2,500 kilometres which took 100 days. That trip turned into an eight week television series that was nominated for two separate Gemini awards.
In 2006 he made a shorter journey from Fort Temiskaming in Northern Quebec to Fort William on the Ottawa River and in 2007 he canoed and portaged for a straight 61 days and another 1,500 kilometres retracing the steps of Samuel de Champlain and Etienne Brule. Bob also has some incredible adventures planned for the future.
Bob published his first book, The Salesology Bible, in 2003, having written a total of ten books and booklets on Salesology.

"You achieved so much more than I could have imagined a "coureur des bois" could deliver to our company and the personal and professional lives of our customers.
I believe everyone's time is precious and I feel the value we brought to our customers by having them sit back and listen to you relate your various challenges to their/our respective teams is priceless. Everyone had a 'take home element' by the end of your presentation; this as much for the Anglophones as for the Francophone present in the room. Your delivery style really works - the many good laughs make an ideal ice-breaker presentation for any size group.
I like what I saw and our customers will never forget the experience Merial Canada Inc. had them live.
Thanks again for sharing your "extreme" experience in a sincere and fun manner!"

Bob Abrames spent 18 years with Sunquest Vacations, one of Canada's true success stories. He was instrumental in growing Sunquest into the massive and extremely successful tour operator it is today. He started there as a kid out of college and quickly became a valuable partner. He helped Sunquest grow from a mom and pop company with one small program to Acapulco to a marketing machine that moved hundreds of thousands of passengers yearly to dozens of international destinations. Bob shares how his team built the Sunquest reputation as the "Quality Package Holiday People". He'll explain how they never lost money - and never made less money than the year before! He'll share their secrets of building a team, setting goals, exceptional service, massive sales, facing adversity in tough times...and of course amassing profit. His presentation is loaded with practical examples and analogies that can be applied to any business.
Bob believes that a speaker’s fundamental job is to make people think. Bob’s story has mesmerized and motivated every audience over the last three years – no exceptions! The story is so unique it is presently being considered for a listing in the Guinness World Records. Bob tells his story about nine total strangers paddling from Montreal to Winnipeg in a birch bark canoe. Complete strangers! Paddling twelve hours a day! No modern comforts! Nowhere to hide from the sun, the rain, or the bugs! The passion and enthusiasm boils through-out this dramatic delivery. This amazing story appeals to everyone, any gender, any age. It’s about what our ancestors did yesterday, who we are today, and what we’re capable of tomorrow. By the time Bob’s finished with his delivery every person in the room will be riveted on him – and everyone will be reviewing their own potential! One more thing – this is not a ‘once won’ kind of story. Bob focuses on one expedition for this story but in fact has completed three - and has ten more on the books. He continues to live what he speaks about, not speak about what he once lived. He’s done it and doing it! Isn’t that what you want your people to do?
No matter what business you've chosen for your professional journey, people need to know about it, something has to be sold and customers need to be cared for. In business terms it’s called marketing, selling and service. All three apply to all professions, on some level, most of the time. Bob uses his thirty years of business success, his expertise as a Salesologist, and his speaking abilities to present to the audience a fresh approach to these massively important skills. Bob guarantees he can ‘shake the canoe’ of the newest or most seasoned of business people with this one! He can focus on all three issues, or one in particular - your choice.
The success of Bob's 2,500 kilometre expedition from Montreal to Winnipeg required 9 people to paddle one canoe, to one destination, in rhythm. The success of the journey depended on a cohesive team, focused management and a common understanding of success. They came embarrassingly close to not making it! What about your team? What’s their Winnipeg? Do they agree on the goals? Are they after the same trophies? Do they respect each others abilities? Bob gets the audience to define their game, their plays, and their goals and appreciate the fact that no one person can paddle a 26 foot canoe alone. He stresses the importance of common objectives, constructive measurements and fair leadership. This presentation is perfect for all teams - players, coaches and managers included.
The definition of success is having all you need of what you want! Money, time, peace, family, you name it. If it’s what you want and you have lots of it you are successful. Bob feels he’s been successful enough with what he’s wanted that he can help audiences get focused on what they want. He’s been to more places, done more things, and earned more money than most people dare to dream of. He speaks for nine months and lives his Voyageur expeditions for three. He does pretty much whatever he wants! He often gets asked – “how can you do all that?” Simple! He’s able to do it because he knows how to focus on what he wants and not let the stuff he doesn’t value get in the way. Bob uses his personal successes, his Voyageur expeditions, and his business accomplishments to help people get focused on what they want personally and as part of a team.
