Profile

Anne Barab teaches people Resilience Strategies and … she is rumoured to be the lost love child of Mark Twain and Lucille Ball! Call Anne Barab a stand up comic and she’ll scowl and grumble. Ask her to tell a funny story, and Mrs. Barab, will smile and don a silly purple hat, sometimes a colander, for a laugh. But she is not a stand-up comic, she defiantly insists. “I am a humourist with a message”, Mrs. Barab said. “A comedian doesn’t have a message, except that everybody is stupid.” Anne is described as Erma Bombeck with a bite. Not as cozy as Erma’s lemon chiffon cake, she’s more tart like a raspberry cobbler that leaves seeds in your teeth.

Anne decorates her seminars on change, leadership and teamwork with lots of practical examples from business, politics, education and family life. Anne began her career in the telecommunications industry, then moved into insurance, banking and financial services. She shattered the glass ceiling when she became the first female Chief Operating Officer of a $1.4 billion mortgage bank. In 1980 Anne founded her own consulting firm to work with firms on strategic planning, marketing, profitability and productivity. Simultaneously she became an elected official in the education sector. Anne applies 30 years of business experience and public service to enlighten and entertain your people.
